Parker
Leni Parker was born and raised in New Brunswick, and
later moved to Montreal where she studied acting at Concordia University .After
completing a 3 year program in performance, she began a 10 year involvement with Pigeons
International
Theatre which took her to Italy, Scotland, Portugal and across Canada
performing in such shows as Savage Love, Blood on the Cat's Neck, D'apres
Ruzante, The Making of Macbeth and Perdus Dans Les Coquelicots .She was
awarded Best Supporting Actress at the Theatre Critics Awards in 1992 in
Montreal for her role as la Bonne in Coquelicots. Her years in Montreal were
spent helping to create new shows with many emerging companies; among them,
P.O.V. company where she performed in Chekov's shorts;1774's Blue Valentine; Ban
the Blondes' Blonde;and Diving Horse Creations' L'ecole des Bouffons and The
House of A treus. With Pigeons, she gained an extensiveknowledge in modern
dance, and her work has been largely experimental. In addition to her theater
roles, Parker has worked in number ous film and television projects:
t.v.-Emily of New Moon,Lassie,The Hound of the Baskervilles, The Sleep Room,
Million Dollar Babies,Hiroshima,and of course Earth:Final Conflict, where she
portrayed Da'an.Film credits include Eisenstein, directed by Renny
Bartlet;Stardom,directed by Denys Arcand; The Education of Little Tree,directed
by Richard Friedenberg; Mrs. Parker and the Round Table,directed by Alan
Rudolph; and most recently, Charms for the Easy Life,starring Gena Rowlands.
Leni is looking forward to doing some theatre in the coming year, and of course
spending a lot of her time with her 3 sweet kitties.
