Why are photos for sale?  How does this work?

Newspapers and the right sell photos from their archives as another way of covering their expenses in bringing the news to you.  $.50 a day does not cover the printing of the articles, but the advertisements and sale of their library of photos come together with that $.50 per copy to pay their bills and staff.

We have made the tough decision to sell our library of photos because we have bills to pay, a server that isn't free, expenses to get to and from conventions, writers to pay etc, and this is a way of bringing in money.

We do not currently sell ads on the site, though you will see offers through affiliate programs to buy things, which is another way of raising money for the site.

On most of the photos we sell we clear about a dollar (if that) profit.  We have to pay for the printing of the photo, all of the shipping money goes to just that -- shipping, and there are credit card fees, and a percentage of the sale goes to the company that prints the photos as their share of the profit.

This is not a get rich scheme, just an effort to cover the expense of trying to help promote the fabulous actors that come to conventions in the small way that we are able.

We do NOT get any kind of profit from helping you find their sites and buy their official merchandise.  The actors do not have affiliate programs.  So using our site to get to theirs and buy their merchandise does not help support PopArtsPlace.com -- it only serves to further our goal of trying to support the entertainment community of which we are so proud to be a part.
