As America, and the world at large, has pulled together in the aftermath of Sept 11, 2001, we at Pop Arts Place have decided to highlight some of the efforts of the entertainment community.
The first, and perhaps most obvious act was the amazing Tribute To Heroes. Amazing not only because of the tremendous number of people who rallied together to make it happen -- but because 30 stations in the US aired it, and the show was made available to 150+ countries, and had a live simulcast on the web. 90 million people in the US gathered in front of 60 million televisions to help our entertainers raise 150 million dollars.
But
more than that, our celebrities -- singers, actors, entertainers of all sorts,
have rallied to the aid of the American Red Cross, and the Screen Actors Guild
has put its entire membership at the disposal of the US Government to help get
information out to the people on what we can do during this national experience.
If you've been watching Television in the weeks since Sept 11th then by now you have probably seen at least one celebrity reminding you how to get in touch with the red cross. Some of those are now available on the web, and we've opted to share them here as one more reminder that we can make a difference, we can rally together, and we can make it through this time -- together, as one nation, indivisible...

As you will see, not all of the ones from the Red Cross site
were made after the events of Sept 11th... but perhaps that better than anything
shows that our entertainers do in fact endeavor to be role models as well.
