Looking for a change of pace tonight? Check out ABC: "What's the Pitch?" -- Roseanne has hired Ted as executive producer of the cooking show. With the concept still not fully developed, she and her team travel to New York to pitch the show to Court TV and the Food Network, but their reception is less than enthusiastic. While the creative team regroups, Roseanne takes her psychiatrist's advice and hits the streets of Manhattan for some retail therapy, on "The Real Roseanne Show," airing WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 13 (9:00-9:30 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. "Lackeys and Drones" - Back home in L.A., Roseanne and her team lament the New York trip. They head on to ABC Family -- with doughnuts in hand - to try their luck again. The meeting is successful and garners a 13-episode order! However, as the project moves forward, producers Jeff and Jake disagree with executive producer Ted over concept and staffing decisions, on "The Real Roseanne Show," airing WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 13 (9:30-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

![]() POP/JAZZ RECORDING SENSATION PETER CINCOTTI MAKES ACTING DEBUT ON CBS DAYTIME DRAMA "THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS" New 20-year-old singing sensation Peter Cincotti makes his acting debut on the CBS daytime drama THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS airing Wednesday, Sept. 10 (12:30-1:30 PM, ET; 11:00 AM-12:00 Noon, PT). He appears as a friend of Paul, the private investigator on the show. He will also sing "Rainbow Connection" from his self-titled debut album, which has already reached the top spot on Billboard Magazine's Traditional Jazz Chart. He is set to make his movie debut next summer in "Spider-Man 2." The young singer, who is a student at Columbia University, just returned from a European tour that included stops in London, Paris, Hamburg, Milan and Madrid. He shares the bill with k. d. lang at the upcoming Newport Jazz Festival, and with Natalie Cole at the Detroit Jazz Festival. "To be able to snag a rising star is a real coup for 'Y&R,' and we're delighted to have Peter on the show," said Executive Producer David Shaughnessy. The young singer, who began playing the piano at age three, was just seven when Harry Connick, Jr., brought him up on stage to demonstrate his piano virtuosity. He began singing five years ago, favoring pop standards instead of more contemporary music styles. His debut album and performances at New York's Algonquin Hotel have received raves from Vanity Fair, the New York Times, Newsweek, USA Today, New York Magazine, and others. "He's sensational," said the New York Daily News. Vanity Fair declared him, "Boy wonder…jazz wunderkind." "An impressive range of material…a fluent piano technique and a brisk sense of swing," said the Los Angeles Times. ![]()
