Lyon's Den

This show has such great potential... and in each episode there are scenes that hint at that potential. This past week Rob Lowe brought an empty chair front and center, and a character who's face we never saw became a shining star, with a brilliant life.

Here's hoping the show lives up to the potential -- and here's to Rob Lowe for taking a risk, leaving the West Wing and trying his hand in the Lyon's Den.

Tonight on NBC:

Elsewhere, Amy (Mary-Louise Parker) champions the reclusive First Lady's (Stockard Channing) violence prevention provisions for an upcoming bill while Abby(Stockard Channing) withdraws from her husband after the Qumari assassination is exposed. In addition, a frustrated Josh (Bradley Whitford) reacts when he is confronted by Amy (Mary-Louise Parker) and Donna (Janel Moloney) is appalled by the new intern Ryan (Jesse Bradford). John Spencer, Richard Schiff, Allison Janney, Dule Hill, Joshua Malina and Lily Tomlin also star.

The Guardian: "The Line" -- Lulu reconsiders her move to Berkeley when Alvin meddles in her business and L.S.P. goes through some significant changes, on THE GUARDIAN.

However, the plan backfires for Alvin when he interferes in a delicate case Nick is handling involving a young runaway who was once Alvin's client. Meanwhile, Nick gets caught in the middle between a father and son who want him to finalize a simple merger of the family department store. However, the deal becomes severely complicated when it's learned that the son has tried to cover up a class-action lawsuit from several African-American customers.

And on Judging Amy: "Ex Parte of Five" -- Conflict erupts between Amy and Maxine when they disagree on a child’s competency to serve as a witness in Amy’s courtroom.

When Amy decides the girl can take the witness stand, Maxine accuses Amy of putting the law before the welfare of children. Also, Kyle is faced with his own sobriety when he must treat a drunk driver who killed a fellow hospital colleague.

MICHAEL DAMIAN RETURNS TO THE CBS DAYTIME DRAMA
"THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS"

CBS Soaps In Depth (The place to get the latest scoop on CBS Soaps)Michael Damian will reprise his role as Danny Romalotti on a recurring basis on the CBS daytime drama THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. He begins taping on October 8 for broadcast beginning November 14.

"We're really excited to have Michael return to the show," said Executive Producer David Shaughnessy. "He was enormously popular with viewers when he previously portrayed Danny Romalotti from 1981-1998 and for one episode in September 2002."

His return to Genoa City will involve the characters of Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell), Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).

Michael Damian, who appeared in the theatrical motion picture "Justice," was spotted by the producers of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS when he performed his 1981 hit, "She Did It," on "American Bandstand." They created the role of rock ’n’ roll musician Danny Romalotti for him, and he made his debut in March 1981. His television credits also include recurring roles in the series "Fly Man" and "Facts of Life." He made numerous appearances on "Dance Fever" and "American Bandstand" and has co-hosted "Friday Night Videos." He also starred in the television film "The Cold Heart of a Killer," on the CBS Television Network, and on Broadway as Joseph in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." He also toured with the play’s National Company to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago. Damian co-produced his album Where Do We Go from Here? with his brothers, Tom and Larry. The album spawned three Top 30 singles, including "Rock On," which went gold.

On a related note, Andromeda fans caught a reference to The Young and the Restless in the season premiere, a gentle way for the Andromeda cast to recognize former cast member Keith Hamilton Cobb's move to Genoa City.
