What do they have to say about Dorian Gregory?

Handsome, charming and single, Dorian Gregory brings a wide range of unique personal experiences to his role as co-host of “The Other Half.” “Coming from very different backgrounds, we are all able to contribute our own personal perspectives on the world of women,” says Gregory.

In addition to his duties as co-host of “The Other Half,” Gregory currently co-stars as Detective Darryl Morris on the WB primetime series, “Charmed.” Before joining the cast of “Charmed” he co-starred as the parapsychologist, Diamont Teague, on the syndicated drama, “Baywatch Nights.” Gregory began his television career in recurring and guest starring roles on series such as “Lois & Clark,” “The Wayans Brothers’ Show,” “3rd Rock from the Sun,” “Moesha,” and “The New Adventures of Superman.”

When he’s not in front of the camera, Gregory simultaneously indulges his passions for music and his love for his family with MD Says, his “hip-hop on another level” musical group that also features his sister. Gregory also supports numerous non-profit and community service organizations. He has served as a National Spokesman for the American Diabetes Association and participates in the Los Angeles Police Department sponsored Jeopardy Program for at-risk youth, among other community service activities. Gregory has also devoted many hours to fund-raising for nonprofit humanitarian and charity organizations such as AIDS Project LA, Special Olympics, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Gregory was born in Washington, DC and raised in Cleveland, OH until age nine when he moved to Los Angeles, CA. He currently resides in Los Angeles.

What do they have to say about the other half?

Actor Dorian Gregory has been named co-host of the nationally syndicated talk show, “The Other Half,” it was announced today by Ed Wilson, President, NBC Enterprises. Gregory’s debut episode of “The Other Half” airs on Monday, April 15th (syndicated, check local listings for time and station).

“’The Other Half’ has proven remarkably resilient during its first season on the air,” said Wilson. “With the casting of Dorian, we have been able to continue the momentum of the show and provide stations with a new co-host heading into May sweeps.”

“Dorian brings a wide range of personal experiences to his role as co-host of the ‘The Other Half,’” said Linda Finnell, Senior Vice President of Programming, NBC Enterprises. “His unique perspective and engaging personality add an exciting new dynamic to the show.”

“The Other Half” debuted on September 10, 2001 and has delivered ratings growth (vs. 2001 time period performance) in most markets, while attracting an audience very similar in size to that of “The View,” another ensemble talk series, in its first season. The advertising community has embraced “The Other Half,” due to its industry-leading concentration of female viewers age 25-54 (37% - exceeding ALL other talk shows).

What do I say?

I found the show to be a ton of fun with Dick Clark, Danny Bonaduce and Mario Lopez handling it, so here's hoping that Dorian Gregory slides into place with this existing team and simply ups the fun quotient even more.  (And for the record, I fall into that 37% and easily understand why so many other women in that age bracket enjoy tuning in.)
