CBS ANNOUNCES THE STAR SEARCH EXPRESS COLLEGIATE TALENT SEARCH

Bus Carrying Star Search Talent Scouts Heads to Colleges in Search of America’s Undiscovered Stars

The Star Search Express, a promotional bus carrying STAR SEARCH talent scouts, headed to the University of Florida campus in Gainesville on Tuesday, April 1st, as its first stop on a nationwide talent search to find America’s best dancers, models, adult singers and junior singers.  Following open auditions in cities across the country during the month of March, STAR SEARCH will continue its pursuit to find America’s brightest stars by literally hitting the road on a five-city talent search that has detours planned for the University of Florida (4/1), University of North Carolina (4/4), University of Kentucky (4/7), Ohio State University (4/10&11) and University of Michigan (4/14), according to STAR SEARCH Executive Producer Andrew Golder.

"We had an outpouring of talent during the nationwide auditions throughout March," said Golder. "The Star Search Express is a grassroots method to find America’s future stars.  The bus will serve as a fun and creative way to attract attention and heighten participation during our university tour throughout April."

Following auditions in each of the university cities, those acts chosen to appear on STAR SEARCH will be flown to Los Angeles for the chance to compete on national television.  The suspense will build each week as the head-to-head competition in each category renders a winner who will advance to the next round.  The grand finale episode will crown the STAR SEARCH $100,000 winner in each category.  Winners throughout the series will be determined by a panel of celebrity judges as well as home viewers voting via the Internet.

Inspired by the original "Star Search" television program (1983-1995), which helped launch the careers of Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Ray Romano, Sinbad and Martin Lawrence, the new STAR SEARCH features competitions in five categories, including adult singer, junior singer, comic, dancer and supermodel.  On April 2, the new tournament of STAR SEARCH featuring 13 original episodes will be broadcast twice weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT both nights)

Interested participants can call the STAR SEARCH hotline at 1-800-553-3811 for further information about the audition process.
