The Foreign Press Association pics a son and daughter of hollywood to help hand out upcoming Golden Globe awards...

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has announced Dominik Garcia-Lorido and A.J. Lamas as its selections for Miss and Mr. Golden Globe for the “60th Annual Golden Globe Awards” to be telecast live on NBC on Sunday, Jan. 19 (8-11 p.m. ET).

Traditionally, Miss and Mr. Golden Globe, who assist in the Golden Globes ceremony, are the daughter and son of well-known performers.

Dominik Garcia-Lorido is the daughter of actor Andy Garcia and his wife Marivi Lorido Garcia. A.J. Lamas is the son of Lorenzo Lamas and ex-publicist Michele Cathy Smith, and the grandson of Fernando Alvaro Lamas (the late Argentinian actor for whom he was named) and Arlene Dahl.

“We are delighted to have Dominik Garcia-Lorido and A.J. Lamas to help us celebrate the 60th Annual Golden Globe Awards,” said Dagmar Dunlevy, President of the HFPA at the announcement. “The Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Board of Directors was extremely impressed by both of these talented second-generation performers.”

Garcia-Lorido’s interest in the arts began when she became a ballerina at age 3. In addition to acting in school plays such as “Damn Yankees,” “Harvey,” “Enter Laughing,” “The Pajama Game” and “Cheaper by the Dozen,” she appeared in the film “Steal Big, Steal Little.” In high school, her extracurricular activities included serving as the school chaplain, a varsity cheerleader, and a member of the varsity basketball team.

Garcia-Lorido was born in South Miami, Florida and has three younger siblings. She has been trained at the Lee Strasberg Studio and the Sanford Meisner Institute. She has also received dramatic training from Josh Adell and is currently enrolled in the freshman class at UCLA’s School of Theatre, Film and Television.

Lamas, who is 18, plays Cisco in the PBS weekly series “American Family.” Born in Los Angeles (where he currently resides) Lamas attended high school in Lake Havasu City, Arizona where he was ranked as one of the top 20 golfers in the state.

Lamas was always considered to be the comedian of the family and by the time he turned 15 years old he expressed a real desire to become an actor. He took acting lessons in school and started making home movies with his two sisters. In the summer of 2001, he competed in the International Modeling and Talent Association competition and won several awards, including “Model of the Year.”
