There are some people who come to the San Diego Comic Con and leave the fans wondering why they came -- but Virginia Hey is not one of them!

By every outward appearance she LOVES interacting with her fans, talking with anyone who takes the time to come see her and doing everything she can to make sure she and those who come to see her have a good convention.

She is a kind woman, who delighted in seeing a fan came "made up" as Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan and enjoyed going over one of her promo shots with the fan and noting the great attention to detail this young woman had put into the project.  As I heard part of the story the young lady is a student doing theater and movie make-up... and this was what she did for one of her final exams.  Well, I don't know what the teachers/professors said, but Virginia Hey had oodles of praise for the young lady!

Virginia Hey is at the top of my list of people that I am glad to see in San Diego each year.  She is a delightful woman who enjoys spending time with her fans -- though she dad mention to me that if she could make just one request of her fans it would be this: please come during my official signing times... don't wait until it is almost over then come running with hopes of getting in as so often my end time is set such that I can go straight to the airport and catch a flight.   At least once she missed a flight because she was torn between not wanting to upset her fans and needing to get to the airport.  She is very aware of the simple reality that if you have a bad experience at a con you'll stop seeking out her work -- but airports don't hold flights for just one actress!

It is our responsibility as attendees to show our appreciation for the time actors/writers etc set aside for their fans, and to understand that they set aside all the time they could.  If we do not respect their time they may just stop coming and I hate the thought that Virginia Hey, or any of the others, may stop coming because we do not treat them with respect and consideration!
